John Grant serves as Director of Planning and Logistics for the Do Something Tour, helping plan the route, identify stops, and turn an ambitious nationwide idea into something that can actually work on the road.
Â
Above everything else, John is the proud father of two boys, ages 9 and 11. They are a driving force behind his belief that we have a responsibility to leave our communities and our country better than we found them.
Â
His path to the Tour has been anything but conventional. John spent years in banking and management before making a major career change in 2015, earning his CDL and taking to the road as a professional truck driver. After years traveling across America and experiencing its communities firsthand, he now works as a propane technician for AmeriGas.
Â
John is also open about his recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. His experiences with addiction and recovery shaped his belief in second chances and taught him something that now sits at the heart of his approach to activism: change doesn't happen by simply talking about what's wrong. At some point, you have to do something about it.
Â
He has put that belief into practice in his own community, including organizing a food drive in the Johnstown area to help local families struggling to put food on the table. He believes ordinary people don't need wealth, political connections, or a title to make a meaningful difference—they need a willingness to show up.
Â
Through the Do Something Tour, John hopes to help prove that Americans from different backgrounds can still come together, listen to one another, and create change.
Â
You don't have to have everything figured out to make a difference. You just have to be willing to do something.
